Overview

CLTs build wider community cohesion and wealth, having positive impacts far beyond their residents. They also provide tangible community assets, such as green spaces and social hubs.

As a sector, we want to be able to demonstrate the wider public value that CLTs provide – through improved health outcomes, economic integration of residents, neighborhood benefits, and more. Research commissioned by the National CLT Network in the UK found that every £1 of public investment in community-led housing generates approximately £3.10 in wider social benefit when accounting for long-term health, well-being, and income effects. We are looking for partners who will support us in building on this initial work to quantify this diverse public value and strengthen our evidence base of the value for money that CLTs provide. This is an essential first step to strengthening our sector’s delivery of even more social value.
